Big Bed

It's Hamish's first night in his big bed (cot) tonight - I wish it wasn't, for a variety of reasons, but I'm so tired I've decided it's worth a go.

He's very unsettled at the moment and having him in our bedroom doesn't seem to be working so it's on to Plan B.

Lets see how we go....I feel really sad about it but if it means we all get more sleep then it will be worth it.

aw that's a big step! Maybe you could alternate for a bit to ease him into it.

Or you could sleep in there too!

How did it go?
Did he cope okay?

It went ok...in that he woke 3 times and resettled well each time, with a feed 2 of the 3 times. This was better than him being unsettled for hours on end, but it did mean I had to get up 3 times and go across the house to him.

Also I found it hard to relax because I was very focused on listening to the monitor - I guess I will get used to it but I was a bit on edge all night. A friend said they use a small analogue clock next to their monitor so they can hear it ticking and know that the monitor is working - I think I will give this a go, might help.

Tonight he has discovered the joy of rolling around in the cot - we've had to go in and untangle his legs from the bars a few times! lol

Thats not a bad start!

Just wait until he learns to stand up and hold onto the sides :)

They just keep on growing...
