You don't really have to kill them, Al. They look after the pests. Actually, I saved 2 bees this morning from death by spider. I hate seeing bees in spiders' webs, because bees are workers and need to be protected. I have a stack of wooden skewers in a kitchen drawer, and these are excellent for extracting insects from spidwers' webs. It's gr8 to see the bees flying off after they've been liberated.
I have some skewers, will keep that in mind for next time. We've got heaps of spiders around here, and generally they don't bother me, but I hadn't seen this particular type before so was a little worried.
