1,000 Hours

I've added it up - I spend 3 hrs a day, roughly 4 days a week, on trains, and have been doing this for 1 yr and 7 months. That equals roughly 1,000 hours on trains, give or take.

1,000 hours is equivalent to 41.67 full 24hr days. SO I've spent over a month of my life getting to work and back since June 2006.

And now I have to go and spend another 1.5 hrs today doing the same thing. In the words of the prince from Blackadder, "Lucky, lucky, luck."

hahaha I love that scene, and I loved House so much more when I realised the Prince is Hugh Laurie.

hahah lucky luck luck hahaha

My train calculations to and from Gosford are:

4 school years, approx 220 days which is 880 all up x 80 minutes a day = 2933 Hours which equals 122 days so that's 4 months or so of my time. That figure does not include all the weekend trips I made for dancing or visiting friends nor does it include the infinite amount of time I have spent waiting for a train on Gosford station. I feel your pain Amc!!!

OK,my turn.Training to be a teacher, I went to the city via the North Shore 5 days a week for 3 years and 4 days a week for one year.I'm too tired to add it up, but it was a lot of train journeys. My favourite occupation on these trips was checking out the station gardens. Killara and Roseville had the best. The gardens were better than they are now.

It's certainly a lotta down time.

One day you will be able to beam yourself from Wyoming to Wynyard. What would be the disadvantages of instant transportation?
