My grandfather passed away on Tuesday night. Not unexpectedly, but still, a difficult time.
The boys are at daycare today, so I went out to Terrigal Beach this morning for a bit of time to myself. Here's some photos I took there:

I always find the beach really soothing and a lovely place to reflect. Thinking of you and your family

my deepest condolences about your grandfather. i'm glad nature has it's super natural way of healing the inside of us all esspecially during the times of lost. take care Alison and God bless.
Lovely shots, Al. Today, the day after the funeral, has been a bitterly cold wintry day and yet yesterday was lovely and sunny. Something to be thankful for.
You had some good times at the beach with Gran & Papa. In fact, it is often-told that on one occasion you declared it the 'Best day of your life'
lol UD I don't remember that! but I do have lots of wonderful memories of trips to the beach with Gran and Papa. On one memorable occasion, we ended up wearing plastic pants on the way home from Collaroy because we'd ened up getting wet in the rock pools and hadn't taken a change of clothes. The only thing Grandma could find in the local shops was waterproof nappy covers! We were waay too old to wear them but we had to, to preserve the car seats!
Thanks Jen and Julie - I agree with you both about the power of the beach - something about all that water and the sounds it makes I think. And being able to see the horizon perhaps.
Km we were certainly lucky with the weather!
