I'm taking on Aimee's suggestion to start memorising bible verses - here's this week's:
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed the water I give him will become in him a spring of waterwelling up to eternal life"John 4:13-14
Now I just have to get my act together and try to learn it!

I learnt a song about this verse when I was in primary school. We used to go to the Asquith Methodist Church, to Sunday School for several years and they taught us a lot of groovy Bible songs. When we started to get into about years 5 and 6, we transferred to St George's Church of England at Mt Colah. Grandma wanted us to be confirmed in the Church of England and there was a religious tsunami in the Aysom household which had shock waves that still resonate. We were in the middle of learning a brilliant song which listed all the books of the Bible, but unfortunately we only learnt up to Deuteronomy before leaving that church. I can still remember the tune and will be happy to sing it for you any time. On the positive side, I have fond memories of joining the St George's Children's Choir, MY VERY FIRST CHOIR. We had a wonderful uniform which I wore with great pride, although it was not flattering in any way. It consisted of a black skirt, a white surplice and a soft black hat which impressed me very much.
I would love to hear the song sometime KM - and I had no idea that you and choirs went so far back!
SP has a new Christian mentor at work and he has challenged him to memorise scripture - SP has heaps down. I am up to number 4 - it's great!
