Birth Options

Soph wrote a post recently on the debate currently raging about birth options in Australia.

On the same topic, this article has some helpful facts about homebirthing. Interesting that in the Netherlands, where they have a 30% homebirth rate, the rate of caesareans is less than half that here. Calls into question the demonising of homebirth going on in some parts of our media.

I just read the post by Sophie and was reading the comments and thinking 'this is a good comment, very well written' and it was yours!!! I should have known!!

I think it is too risky and a bit of a senseless risk really, when there are places full of trained professionals in birthing nearby,

lol glad you liked it!

It's a pity that a lot of people have bad experiences in hospitals which puts them off, because as you say the professionals are there if you need them. Not that every birth requires professional intervention though.
