Random Locals

One of the things I sort of like about not having a licence is that I meet all sorts of people on public transport. I never know when I get on a bus who might start talking to me. I think people are chattier up here than they are in Sydney, plus during the day on buses you tend to get people who have various problems in their lives, mental and otherwise, and these are sometimes people more likely to talk to you. I hear all sorts of interesting things! And because it's a bus, I can always get off if it become uncomfortable.

Public transport is the way to go. One driver and many passengers makes more sense than everyone being a driver.

You still need to get your licence, Al!

The weirdest I ever met was on my way home from school and at Woy Woy this couple got on and they looked pretty bedraggled. Anyway, the woman started telling us all about their dead dog which died at Wondabyne and how sad she was. This was pretty odd already but then the man whipped out a little harmonica and started playing a tune and the woman sang along to it about her dead dog at Wondabyne (those were the main lyrics).

This went on until we got to Wondabyne when they had to get off the train but the woman refused to because it was too traumatic for her and the man had to hoist her over his shoulder and carry her off.

I'm flabbergasted ! No wonder you remember it all. You must recall the song.
